Here’s a familiar sign, if you know the street. but where is it? Somewhere in Buckingham, naturally. The 4950 paintings are all of features in Buckingham and surrounding villages.
This one you can find on Google Maps I’ve tried not to make it too easy for you though, where’s the fun in that?
The painting in progress image was taken late on. The differences are subtle between the “work in progress” and “completed” image, but do you recognise the subject for my latest in the 4950 Painting, Number 24 A shop sign.
I had plenty of choice for this painting. So many shop signs in Buckingham which one would be right? I settled on the hanging bracket style because they’ve always intrigued me and add an extra dimention for the composition. This particular sign was slightly weathered and the resulting colours were open to interpretation.
Mine to be precise…
