Today’s architectural feature is a Bolt. The original image took me a while to find. I had my list of intended painting subjects and this one, Bolt, was particularly hard to find, which surprised me. Bolts are common place aren’t they? The trouble is, they tend to be on the inside and I wanted the images I used to be in places where people could see them easily, without needing to “apply with” or some such inconvenience. This one is just inside the building.
Finding a bolt that was in public view without requiring special permission had me stumped. I eventually found this one, and it is probably the single most appropriate image for the building it secures. Can you guess where it is? It would have been a feature those who went there would be acutely aware of. Thankfully, not so much now.

So here’s the painting of the bolt.
You’ll find it in a location where security is the most important, and it’s a building that a strong image for Buckingham. Let me know your guesses in the comments. I’ll reveal the answer in tomorrow’s post.
