As promised here’s the London bus painting I’ve been working on. It’s very small on 8 inches or 20 cms square. I was asked to create a canvas painting for the Windsor Art Fair on 7th November to contribute to the fundraiser for The Princes Trust. I’ve decided to take it to the Love Art Fair this

They’re the work of Lynn Chadwick, on the corner of Bishopsgate and Wormwood Street in London. I’m planning some more transport

Another iconic image now, the red bus. Although this one isn’t a Routemaster, that’s my next project… If you look carefully you can see the masked outlines of the Gherkin. (I know, I simply couldn’t resist.) I was taken with the statues and the Gherkin together. Then along came a bus… Maybe that should be

So, on Wednesday I shared an experimental work in progress. Here’s the result. The verdict is… I don’t like it! Visually I like the effect but I found the surface very fragile and I’ve had the familiar drying problem. Cleaning up resulting in ink smudges as well as scratches where I’ve tried to remove the

In an effort to create larger work, I’ve been experimenting for the Lloyds building painting The trouble with paper is that it buckles when you get it wet. One solution is to stretch it and use thicker paper, which works to a point. The point being I don’t do it very well. Also, as your

Here’s the finished pigeon painting. I still think I need to work on the title. Everything I can think of sounds cheesy except for ‘Crossing the Thames’. I’m pleased how he gets lost in the river Thames. Like an ornithologist’s version of “Where’s Wally?” .Spot the Pigeon. You can see more London paintings with much
