I had big plans for my Walkie Talkie painting Creation. It all started so well, but then… well, first let me set the scene.
First I created my graphite image, all good but hard to photograph, so no image. Onto the second stage as the masking begins.
I always think they look gross as this stage. The mixture of masking fluid and graphite looks messy and I’m constantly surprised when I remove it how clean the result it. Anyway, I digress. Then..
OK, I have a confession sometimes I forget things, especially when I’m busy. This painting creation is more of a reveal than a work in progress. You know, like when they say on Blue Peter “Here’s one I did earlier.” after doing the first little bit on camera? I missed a whole load in the middle, but we catch up with the painting near the end.
One more work in progress, a little more blue.
Managed some action shots of the masking removal, my favourite part.
The newly finished piece. There are always a few masking bits I miss. I keep revisiting it over a week before I’m happy. sometimes I have to use a scraperfoil tool to get the stubborn bits off.
And finally, the finished Walkie Talkie painting all trimmed and neat.
