26 Doorstep Art – Ok, so technically not a single doorstep

Is Doorstep Art a thing?

If not, it should be. One thing I’m finding with this painting challenge. There’s no shortage of subject material in most categories. I’ve struggled with a few but, by and large, it’s being spoilt for choice that’s been the issue, rather than a lack of choice. That simulataneously makes everything easier and more difficult.

Easier, because it gives me plenty of good, inspiring features to deal with. Difficult because it gives me too many inspiring architectural features to work with. Doorways and entrances in particular. I believe there even may be a whole sub culture in doorstep art. I’ve googled it and there’s an arts centre in Torbay, but not a subculture. What do you think?

Is the world ready for doorstep art?

We want to make an impression, and the threshold to our homes is where we often start.

I may be following this theme a little further. Perhaps a new project.

Here’s the painting in progress. I may have got carried away with the salt

After a little more painting and some tentative masking removal as the deadline was looming and it was still wet. It has a fuzzy look from all the salt.

This is the finished painting.

So this is my first piece of Doorstep Art. I think the world needs lots more of it.
