23 Pebble Alcove – Painting Stowe’s curious Temple

Wander around Stowe Gardens and you’ll come across a curious structure, a Temple with an alcove that’s all decorated with pebbles. I was going to play a guessing game again. You know where it is, but the title sort of gives it away, doesn’t it.

Here's the work in progress.

And the Answer is...

It’s a curious construction and is exactly what it says it is. A charming alcove decorated in Pebbles. Constucted in 1739, it’s aged well, minus a few pebbles.

The subject of yesterday’s Bolt Painting can be found just inside the main door to Buckingham’s Old Gaol
