So many paintings in Progress and So Little Completed!

News and latest paintings from Cathy Read's Studio

Lots to share this time. The calander is filling up and already looking busy up until June. I’ve added some of the events to the events page on my website, the rest are waiting for confirmation. Delighted to have been invited to talk at a number of art societies this year, which is always an honour and a pleasure. First one coming up is in March and will be on the Pre-Raphealite Brotherhood, I’m really looking forward to a complete change of subject.

In a bid to improve my studio time, I’ve decided on another challenge. The plan is to create 50 paintings in 2023, but I won’t keep to one theme this time. Maybe a couple, to keep focus. I have my sights on London and Stations are high on my list with creations inspired by Waterloo and Liverpool Street among the works in progress. I may include those Thames Bridges, as well.

The Society of Women Artists have asked members to contribute images for a pack of playing cards, So, I’m working on the 4 of clubs, which you’ll see below as a work in progress.
