Throughout Man’s history, art has occupied his world. From primitive cave paintings to the intricacies of a Faberge egg. Art has delighted mankind and decorated homes. Original art is something that can be simple and throwaway like an origami crane or a treasured position like a painting that hangs pride of place in your home. What that is, is a personal experience and can often start with a simple chance encounter. Like hearing a song on the radio or popping into a small gallery and finding a painting we love. Sometimes our love affairs with the arts begin in the humblest of setting and with the smallest of purchases. We don’t have room for big paintings, but a small card of a painting means so much more.
People like you, love art, but to really appreciate art, it helps to look at it for a while and see it from the artist’s perspective.
That’s why I’m starting my Post Paintings Series so that you can have a little piece of art posted to you to appreciate every month. The type of mail that’s a pleasure to receive. Something that you can display, or keep as a reminder in a favourite book.

Post Paintings are a series of Monthly art cards that You can collect or share, for the price of a cup of coffee, every month.
Each card has a new and original image by Cathy Read and will be sent directly to your home or the home of someone you love.

The Post Painting include a meditation by the artist about the painting. Some will be descriptive, others are the story behind how the painting came to be. Sometimes, they are complete flights of fancy that may take you to who knows where. I never know until I start them, and you can join me on the journey. Each month there will be a new Post Painting complete with a different meditation story. And unlike a coffee, these contain zero calories.
