How’s the excitement level in your household?
Ours is pretty high, even with Christmas over, everyone is looking forward to the new year. As if that wasn’t enough, I’ve had some more big news about my Art. Artists and Illustrators Magazine hold an annual competition. This year’s is called
Artist of the Year 2017.
Well, they have only gone and shortlisted one of my paintings!
The painting selected is of the “Toast Rack” in Manchester. A distinctive building, you can read about it’s creation here?

It’s one of 50 paintings and drawings on display
in the Threadneedle room, at the Mall Galleries in January.
You can see all the shortlisted entries here, along with “Toast Rack”
Naturally, I’m thrilled to have been selected.
There’s a People’s Choice Award which you can vote for via the link as well.
Obviously, your votes for mine would be greatly appreciated? With so many fabulous entries I’ve no idea who the winner will be. All adds to the excitement.
Still feels a bit unreal, but in a very good way. It was another opportunity that was the result of a last minute decision. #just goes to show that sometimes you just have to have a go and wait and see.
The exhibition will be in the Threadneedle room at the Mall Galleries,
The Mall, London between 23rd and 28th January, 2017. It’s open to the public. There will be a Private view
It’s a great to end a year and begin the next on a high!
Hope you’re looking forward to 2017 as much as I am. So, I’ll raise a glass to the New Year and say “Here’s to taking a punt!”
Oh Cathy that’s wonderful!! I voted for you!!! Wishing you all the luck in the world!
Thank you Robyn! I’ve got to take the painting up to London this week. Can’t Wait to see it all framed up when I collect it. Cathy
