As the year draws to an end it’s time to look back at the best of 2021. One from each month, and I detect a thespian theme this year. See if you agree, although the first is a nod to public transport.
January
January began with a focus on London and what screams London like a Big Read Bus? This is Brigit’s Tea bus, could it be any more British? In the midst of Lockdown, keeping spirits up was the order of the day.
February
Presenting the Albert Hall for February. Do you recognise it? It’s not the one in London but in the heart of Manchester. A fine building and one that requires a second glance to be appreciated.
March
After an Oxford Commission and with Artweeks to look forward to, I turned my focus onto Town and Gown with Christ Church here being the first of five created. Here we have the Tom Tower looming overhead as we stand by the main entrance.
April
Inspiration comes in all guises and the Theatre has been a rich source this year, The reconstructed Globe Theatre has inspired many, as much for performances within its walls as for the building itself…
May
Another glorious Oxford landmark, the Sheldonian Theatre. Here capturing reflected glory as well as its own unassailable splendour.
June
The second Albert Hall in one post? Surely not! You’ve probably heard of this one it the one though. A popular landmarch but also the third theatre. I suspect my subconsious is trying to tell be something.
The first 6 months of the best of 2021 Art.
Looking back over another strange year, but we got through it! We’re going to take a little break until later in the week.
And, with a view of some completed paintings and a board ready to start, I draw to a close the first half of the Best of 2021.
Great work Cathy. Well done.
Thank You, Dinah! Hope you’re keeping well and Happy New Year!
