Shop Front at the V and A – An original painting by Cathy Read. Created in England in 2024. The painting is 56cm high by 76 cm wide and includes a certificate of authenticity.

Framing: The painting is currently unframed. Framing will be arranged in white painted frame with double mount off white and dark grey.  Framed size is approx 76cm high x 96cm wide. Please allow up to three weeks for framing.

Framed images are for guidance only and may differ slightly from the actual framing.

Care: Display under glass. Keep painting away from moisture, heat and bright lights or direct sunlight.

Shop Front at the V and A- Original Painting

About the image:

Wandering the V and A is a transformative experience. Intriguing displays are all around. A remnant of architecture caught my eye. What remains of a shop frontage. I turned it into an abstract, this is the result.

Creation: Masking fluid is painted onto watercolour paper to create an image. This is covered with a watercolour wash and covered with clingfilm. The picture is further developed using acrylic inks once the film is removed. The masking is removed after several layers are added and allowed to dry. Revealing the final picture.
