About the image:
Little lines flow,
Little lines move,
Little lines cross ’round each other,
Little lines go.
These lines flow around and up, taking power to the train lines.
Transport lines,
Transport the flow,
Relentless,
Endless,
Make the tube lines go.
Noises, braking, movement starting, station coming, squeal of the brakes.
Jerk to Stop.
Litlle transport lines that power the big transport lines.
That make the trains go.
That move the people slow
That make the city go.
Creation: Masking fluid is painted onto watercolour paper to create an image. This is covered with a watercolour wash and covered with clingfilm. The picture is further developed using acrylic inks once the film is removed. The masking is removed after several layers are added and allowed to dry. Revealing the final picture.
