Sketching London – Original Painting

Sketching London – An original painting by Cathy Read. Created in England in 2013. The painting is 56cm high by 76 cm wide and includes a certificate of authenticity.

Framing: The painting is currently unframed. Framing will be arranged in white painted frame with double mount off white and dark grey.  Framed size is approx 76cm high x 96cm wide. Please allow up to three weeks for framing.

Framed images are for guidance only and may differ slightly from the actual framing.

Care: Display under glass. Keep painting away from moisture, heat and bright lights or direct sunlight.

Sketching London – Original Painting

About the image:

Fancy taking a sketching trip around modern London? This painting is an original view of today’s London in a beautiful sketch montage of contemporary architecture. featuring some of it’s most iconic and stylish new architecture. Created in Cathy’s unique style it includes The Shard, The Lloyds Building, Millennium Dome, London Eye, City Hall and The Gherkin alongside more traditional favourites of St Pauls, Big Ben, Buckingham Palace, HMS Belfast and Tower Bridge. A great way to remember a fantastic city.

Creation: Masking fluid is painted onto watercolour paper to create an image. This is covered with a watercolour wash and covered with clingfilm. The picture is further developed using acrylic inks once the film is removed. The masking is removed after several layers are added and allowed to dry. Revealing the final picture.
