Looming London – Willis Building – Original Painting
About the Image:
Sometimes you just need to let the image do the talking.
I’ve always been in awe of tall buildings and chimneys. Ever since I was little and I felt that they would topple on me. We kind of take them for granted. You don’t see many people craning their necks to see them. I’m all for looking up in cities, we don’t do it nearly enough.
Creation: The painting is on watercolour paper. Cathy draws the lines with masking fluid to a planned arrangement before painting it with a watercolour wash which gets covered with clingfilm. Once this is removed the picture is further developed using acrylic inks which are left to dry before the masking is removed to reveal the final picture.
