Framing: The painting comes framed in white painted wood with double mount off white and dark grey. (See sample images.) The Image size 41 x 51 cm, framed size approx 58 high x 68 wide. Painting is glazed with standard glass.

Battersea Park – Original Painting

About the Image

Battersea Park in brilliant colours, a festive scene if ever there was one. Those blue sculptures remind me of presents all wrapped in gold ribbon.
It’s an unusual image for me, something of a departure from the architecture, although there is architecture here in the gift like boxes decorated with gold flames climbing the sides.
What is the festival?
 
The reference photograph was taken when I was walking to Battersea Affordable Art Fair a few days before Lockdown began in 2020.

Creation: Masking fluid is painted onto watercolour paper to create an image. This is covered with a watercolour wash and covered with clingfilm. The picture is further developed using acrylic inks once the film is removed. The masking is removed after several layers are added and allowed to dry. Revealing the final picture.
