41 Drainpipe

There is a drainpipe there, but it’s hard to see. Hidden as it is among the stonework and shadows. You can see the top pipe, but the decoration on the lower piece and the way the colours have bled has resulted in a degree of abstraction.

The colours start with brilliant yellow oranges in the bottom left which slowly morph into dark browns and reds as your eye scans up and to the right. Occasional splashes of magenta, dark green and pale blue break up the colour.

Textured stone merges with each other. The down pipe, predominantly grey with ink separation and chromatography resulting in a marbled texture of pinks and blue. The floral decorations marked in white along with the multiple facets which form the hopper head which catches the rain from the gutter.
