34 Anniversary Sundial
When I set about this challenge, I expected that the sundial I chose would be ancient and have some mysterious origin or be what was used to keep the house run on time of some other fanciful romantic history. I was right about the fanciful romantic history, it commemorates a silver wedding anniversary. “Awwww!” I can hear you say, but it’s not old. Just 12 years old in fact.
It’s a charming example, a mix of brass work and stone carving. Silver Wedding March 2007 reads the inscription. You can’t quite see the date. A fact that’s irrelevant in this case. Behind the sundial, the ancient brick wall of a garden. To the left a life ring is tucked away in the top left corner. An indication that water is nearby. Following down, there are shrubs growing up towards the sundial.
