Mosaic floors have always had a fascination for me. The fragments of tiny tiles placed together to create an artwork with a permanent feel. My mosaic floor painting is fragile by comparison. Water will easily destroy all aspects of it, but runs right off the original floo. Mosaic is permanent, or as permanaent as anything can be. Hardwearing to the point that hundreds/thousands have trampled over it. Probably without having a second glance as it became unseen to the eyes of those who saw it regularly. Mudied and soaked on wet days. Cleaned in an instant.
The Mosaic Floor seen here is visible from the street, when the shop it belongs to is open. You may not be able to see it as the shop is vacant as I write this, but maybe you’ll be lucky and the green door will be open.
Number 40 in the 4950 series only 10 left. I finally have dates for the exhibition, 12-15th April at the Chantry Chapel.
