The Modern Face of Oxford

Oxford is known for it’s historic architecture, the university dominates the city and it’s dreaming spires are iconic. ©2013 - Cathy Read - St Catherine's Main Quad - Watercolour and Acrylic- 55 x 75 cm

But the university has some hidden gems…

Buildings that are very much a vision for the 21st Century. Despite the dominant image of a historic past. Oxford Central Library hosts The Modern Face of Oxford which shows a very contemporary side to city.

Cathy’s distinctive style brings architecture to life and reflects the vitality found within any contemporary building. More than the basic materials which are utilized in their creation, they are the realisation of dreams.

The Oxford series focuses on architecture created in the 20th and 21st Centuries and selected pieces will be on display in Oxford’s Central Library in April, 2014
